Professor Christoph Stuckelberger, Founder and President of Globethics.net
Founder and President of Globethics.net, Professor Christoph Stuckelberger has argued that there exist a high level of trust among peers than there exist between them and officials in the public sector.
According to Prof. Stuckelberger, the credibility of leadership is in crisis as an extreme number of CEOs and government officials are positioned as people with low ethical and transparent tendencies due to a distant relationship that exist between the people who serve them or elected them into their respective offices.
Speaking at the Ethics and Values Lectures on Thursday February 8 he said neighbours tend to defend or support each other notwithstanding a position that puts them in a bad light. But distinguishing that same relationship that exist between these public officials and the electorates, he said about 37% of CEOs are seen as credible whereas only 29% of government officials are considered credible.
Prof. Stuckelberger held that, the situation is as a result of the abuse of power by some leaders who occupy various positions in our society stating that such leaders are only cluttered up with personal interests and manipulation.
He held that the result of their actions in the end is the corruption and conflicts we encounter on daily basis.
The Ethics and Values Lectures is two-day international workshop on the culture of Integrity, Ethics and Transparency.
The aim of the workshop is to share knowledge and interact with leaders in the areas of governance, business and academia in Ghana and to increase the demand for ethical services, integrity and transparency by civil society by Public Servants of Ghana.
