Eleven people have been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in various parts of Ekurhuleni over the weekend, metro police said on Sunday.
Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) spokesperson chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said “roving roadblocks” were held in three operational regions of the city.
Four drivers were arrested in Katlehong – two in Tembisa and two in Germiston. The others were arrested in Putfontein, Brakpan and Tokoza. They are aged between 22 and 41.
The 11 men are expected to appear in court soon.
