Vanessa Ponce de Leon made history on Saturday, when she was crowned Miss world 2018. She became the first Mexican to ever do so. The 26-year-old beat 117 other contestants to the crown, including runner up, Nicolene Limsnukan and Miss Uganda, Quiin Abenakyo.
“I can’t believe it, I really can’t believe it. And i think all the girls deserved it. I am proud to represent all of them. I will do as much as I can in the time I’ve got. Thank you so much, everyone” Venessa said back stage.
Meanwhile, Ponce holds a degree in International Business and is currently on the board of directors of a rehab center for girls. The 2018 event took place in Sanya City, Arena in Sanya, China.
