Zebilla (U/E), Sept. 13, GNA – The Member of
Parliament (MP) for the Zebilla Constituency, Mr Frank Fusieni Adongo, has
disclosed that he has partly financed the construction of a maternity block for
the Bawku West District Hospital to promote health delivery.

He indicated that the facility, which was
ongoing, was to improve on the maternal health delivery, neonatal health and
quality newborn health in the District.

Mr Adongo disclosed this in an interview with
the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after he inspected the project at Zebilla and said
the contribution was from his share of the MP’s Common Fund and a top-up
support from the Bawku West District Assembly.

He said maternal health was paramount to
government and it was determined to ensuring that the people got access to
quality health delivery at their door-steps, especially pregnant women and
mothers with newborns.

Mr Adongo, who is also the Deputy Upper East
Regional Minister, said he had completed the construction of an abandoned
morgue for the Zebilla Hospital from his share of the Health Insurance Levy and
would soon equip it with equipment to enable the people to preserve their dead
ones.

He said to ensure the promotion of quality
education in the District, he had presented 320 dual desks, valued at about GH¢55,000
to the District Education Directorate, adding that he used part of his common
fund to support students in second cycle and tertiary institutions.

Mr Adongo urged parents to see the education
of their children as paramount and invest in them since they would grow to
become the human resource base for the development of their communities and the
country at large.

The MP assured his constituents that he would
promote quality health delivery, education, provide potable drinking water,
improve on sanitation and create an enabling environment for agricultural
activities to thrive.
