Accra, Sept. 12, GNA
–  The U-17 national team of Ghana, Black
Starlets, have qualified to the finals of the WAFU Zone B tournament, after
defeating their Ivorian counterparts 2-1 at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché,
Niamey on Wednesday.

  The U-17 national team of Ghana, Black
Starlets, have qualified to the finals of the WAFU Zone B tournament, after
defeating their Ivorian counterparts 2-1 at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché,
Niamey on Wednesday.

Goals from Umar
Mohammed and Taufiq Shaibu for Ghana, ensured smooth progress for the Black
Starlets, who are on the verge of securing qualification to the U-17 Africa Cup
of Nations to be hosted by Tanzania.

Seydou Traore was on
target for the Ivorians, but it was certainly not enough.

The Black Starlets
after their triumph over the Elephants would the face the winner of the other
semi final clash between host Niger and Nigeria with the winner getting the
solitary ticket for the U-17 AFCON.

The Black Starlets
would be looking forward to make the seventh appearance at the championship as
they target their third continental trophy.
