Two Teenagers remanded for allegedly robbing a Videographer

Accra Aug. 31, GNA – Two teenagers who
allegedly robbed a Videographer of his mobile phone after pulling a knife on
him at Roman Ridge have been remanded into custody by an Accra Circuit Court.

Emmanuel Osei and Emmanuel Kofi Tsawodzi, both
drivers’ mate, who escaped after the robbery, were apprehended when they run
into a team of Military personnel.

The Police gave their ages as 18 years but at
the court, Osei told the trial judge that he was 17 years whiles Tsawodzi said
he was 15 years.

They have pleaded not guilty to a charge of
robbery.

The court presided over by Mrs Afi Agbanu
Kudormor after a look at the two teenagers ordered that the accused persons be
sent to the Police hospital to undergo medical examination to assess and
ascertain to their ages.

They are to reappear on September 13.

Prosecuting Chief Inspector Victor Dosoo said
the complainant, Derrick Amoamah, is a videographer with Hammamat Limited,
located at Roman Ridge, Accra.

Chief inspector Dosoo said the two accused
persons reside at Kokomlemle in Accra.

On August 25, this year at about 2300 hours,
the complainant was waiting for a commercial vehicle at a bus stop near the
PAWA house, after closing from work.

Prosecution said the two accused persons
attacked Mr Amoamah with a knife and took his Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Mobile
phone valued at GH¢3,000.

The complainant and a driver, who emerged at
the scene, chased the two accused persons and unfortunately for them, they run
into some Military personnel, who nabbed them.

According to prosecution the complainant’s
mobile phone was retrieved from them. The accused persons were handed over to
the Police at Kotobabi and a report was made by the complainant.
