NTV To Stop Airing The Beat After 14 Years

(Last Updated On: July 31, 2018)

For most of the current young adults in Kenya, The Beat was one of the must watch shows if you wanted to check out some of the latest music videos back in the day before the internet was widely available. The show is owned by music veteran DJ Pinye who has been in charge of what songs are played.

It turns out that The Beat may be soon be moving to a new home after airing for 14 years on NTV. DJ Pinye went ahead and posted this message on the shows social media page:

“To everyone who has watched us over the last 14 years, supported us, criticized us, sent a shout out, we are happy to have been in this long journey together. The show comes to an end on NTV and we moving to shape the Kenyan music industry keep it locked on our new YouTube channel and social media handles for updates”

The next destination is not yet clear but many believe it just must be Citizen TV who have recently been on a roll to poach a number of Nation Media Group’s employees.
