Congolese side AS Vita have arrived in Ghana to take on Aduana Stars in the third Group A game of the Caf Confederations Cup.

The Group A leaders will be hoping to strengthen their hold at the top when they travel to Dormaa to play the current Ghana Premier League Champions.

Head coach of the side Jean Ibenge has highlighted the creativity of Aduana as an aspect of their game they have thoroughly scouted and will be hoping to nullify.

“It will not be an easy game because I have seen how they played in Cote D’Ivoire”

“They create a lot of chances and are very dangerous going forward.

“They also managed a draw against Raja who are one of the tournament favourites so we know what they can do, he revealed.

Background

The Dormaa based club received special clearance from FIFA to enable them participate in the competition in the wake of the halt in all football activities that has been caused by the rot uncovered at the GFA.

Based on the revelations following the airing of the Number 12 investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas steps are being taken to dissolve the GFA while charting a new path forward for football in Ghana.

More than a hundred referees and officials were caught on tape accepting money to influence matches and player selection.

The investigation has resulted in the resignation of Kwesi Nyantakyi as President of the GFA as well as from his position as First Vice President of Caf and FIFA’s executive council.

Football has been absent for five weeks in Ghana and as a result Aduana will face the ultimate test of their fitness when they come up against the newly crowned Congo DR Champions.

It will also be the first official game in charge for new Aduana Stars head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi who replaces Yusif Abubakar.

Aduana are currently bottom of Group A after picking up just a point from their two matches played.
