A woman was victimized twice when two of her vehicles were stolen.

According to the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan, the woman who owns the car had lent it to her son.

He stopped at a gas station in Delta Township where a thief jumped into the Lexus sedan and drove off.

The woman reported the theft to police and rented a car to have another mode of transportation.

The next day, as she drove the rented SUV, the mother spotted her stolen vehicle outside of a Quality Dairy on Lansing Road.

She parked her rented SUV, blocking her stolen sedan. She left the SUV and got into her Lexus. Police believe that in the haste to get her car back, the woman left the SUV running.

When the thief, 18-year-old Jaysean Porter, came out of the store and found the victim in the car, he ran to her rental truck and fled the scene with it, police said.

Later that day, Porter was arrested approximately 85 miles from the scene.

Porter was charged with unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle and carjacking.
