A former Head of Banking Supervision at the Bank of Ghana, Raymond Amanfu has denied receiving an invitation from the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) over investigations into the collapsed UT and Capital banks.

Media reports suggested that Mr. Amanfu has been asked to report to EOCO tomorrow in connection with his tenure at the Bank of Ghana.

The report linked his tenure at the central bank to some of the challenges that led to the collapse of UT and Capital banks.

But in a response to Citi Business News, Mr. Amanfu denied the publication.

Meanwhile, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison during the announcement of the Policy Rate recently hinted that all persons including Bank of Ghana staff who contributed to the collapse of the two banks will be called to answer for their roles.

“Don’t be surprised if workers of former staff of the Bank of Ghana are invited to explain the roles they played,” Dr. Addison told journalists.

He maintained that the all the directors and managements of the two banks will also answer during the investigations by the relevant authorities.
