Ghana’s national U-20 female team, the Black Princesses have been drawn alongside hosts France, New Zealand and the Netherlands in Group A ahead of their campaign at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France.

The free-scoring Ghana team were placed in pot three alongside Brazil, Spain and China PR for the 2018 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup draw held on Thursday (March 8) at the Rennes Opera House with head coach Yusif Basigi and management member Kweku Ayiah in the audience.

They will play the second game of the tournament against France on August 5 at the Stade de la Rabine, Vannes.

The Princesses will later engage The Netherlands on August 8 at the Stade de la Rabine and later face-off with New Zealand on August 12 at the Stade Guy Piriou, Concarneau.

Ghana qualified for the tournament after thrashing Cameroon 4-1 on aggregate. The Princesses drew that first-leg 1-1 in Cameroon but walloped their opponents 3-0 in the second-leg courtesy goals by Ernestina Abambila, Priscilla Adubea and former Black Maidens captain Sandra Owusu Ansah at the Cape Coast Stadium last January.

The 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be contested by 16 teams from six confederations between August 5-24.
