Today December 23 2017 edition of Newsfile was the last for the year as we enter into 2018. It also marks the end of President Akufo-Addo’s first year in government since the party took power from the NDC. The discussion was dominated by issues that made headlines in the course of the year with regards to corruption and a review of the President’s first year in government.
The controversy surrounding the budgetary allocation to the Ministry of Special Initiatives headed by Hawa Koomson was also interrogated. The ministry is expected to spend GHC800, 000 on a new website and about GHC700, 000 on contruction of a classroom block.
The Minority has called for a probe into what they term ‘blatant corruption’ at the Ministry and also called for the Minister to be sacked by the President.
