Some colleagues of the unknown young man who rode a motorbike without clothes on through the busiest streets of Tamale are of the conviction he did so for money rituals and not to win a GH¢50 bet as claimed.
According to his peers at Changli a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis, he is alleged to be engaged in cybercrime otherwise known as “Sakawa” and may have ridden his motorbike through the principal streets of Tamale in fulfilment of a directive by his spiritualist.
Parents of the unnamed young man who has since gone into hiding, however claim he is spiritually possessed and battling a mental condition of which they are currently seeking treatment around Mankango in the East Gonja District before he went riding in town naked.
Residents of Tamale last weekend were left in a state of shock when the spotted him naked on a motorbike riding through town in broad daylight.
Earlier there was an account that he challenged his colleagues he could ride a motorbike through the principal streets of the ancient town naked and dared anyone who doubted him to bet.
Another is said to have placed a GH¢50 bet and asked him to go to the most populated area within the Metropolis, buy food and return to claim the stated amount.
In no time, the man ripped himself of his clothes and jumped onto a ‘Mapouka’ motorbike towards the NEDco offices to the location and back amidst shouts from other road users who saw his conduct as very strange and mentally related.
He was said to have fulfilled his part of the bargain and returned to claim the amount but this has not stopped the wide public condemnation with sections doubting if he is of sound mind.
Tamale Dakpema, Naa Alhassan Dawuni who is not enthused about the development has summoned parents of the man and demanded they produce him to face the appropriate sanctions.
Colleagues are skeptical about the bet claims.
