The deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has accepted the challenge to fight with member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong.

This was as a result of an earlier call from the MP to the NDC executive to fight him if he (Koku) was a man. The Assin North MP, on Wednesday 13th December 2017 stated on Oman FM’s programme, National Agenda, that he is patiently waiting for the NDC official.

He added that he has decided to control himself because of president Nana Akufo-Addo. He however added that he willing to fight if Koku is ready. “I will meet him face to face”, he added.

Kennedy Agyapong revealed that Koku Anyidoho attempted to implicate him in a drug-related case involving a drug baron called Asem Darkey aka “Limping Man.

This, he stated, was during the term of the late president, John Evans Atta Mills.

He further stated that in 2012, Koku Anyidoho, then a Communications Director at the presidency alleged that Asem Darkey was “…singing like a canary”.

Koku is alleged to have further stated that some New Patriotic Party (NPP) members had been named in the cocaine case, and as a result the country’s borders would be closed so that no one escapes.

An Accra High Court sentenced the Limping Man to 22 years in prison for his role in the disappearance of the 77 parcels of cocaine which was on board the MV Benjamin vessel.

In response to the challenge to a fight, Koku Anyidoho stated on Peace FM that “I am not a professional boxer but since he said he will beat me wherever he meets me, I am waiting for him . . . he should also be prepared,”

He went ahead to say that the MP’s statement reveals the level of lawlessness in the country.

He further stated that unlike the MP, he has faith in the police and as such future threats would be dealt with, according to the law.
