Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul, on Thursday, 14 December 2017 inaugurated a 13-member board to steer the affairs of the Veterans Association.
Mr Nitiwul told the veterans that President Nana Akufo-Addo identifies fully with their interest and will do all he can to liberate them economically.
The Bimbilla MP charged the new board to work towards resolving the contemporary challenges facing veterans in the country.
Chairman of the Board, Major Gen. C.B. Yaache Rtd., promised to lobby the Defence Ministry to better the lives of veterans by increasing the allowances they receive from government.
He also wants government to take care of the wives of all deceased veterans.
