Ghanaian actress, Efia Odo has indicated that she is not bothered she is not been featured in movies in the country because she makes more money from been a Nursing assistant in the US.
The Instagram celebrity has been heavily criticized by a section of the public who have always asked her to work on getting roles in movies rather than exposing her nakedness on social media.
But Efia Odo is not moved by what people say because social media has afforded her a great following as compared to what movies has done for her.
Efia who was speaking to Accra-based Zylofon FM said “I made my name because of Instagram and because of the kind of pictures I post on social media. I’ve read comments that people ask ‘why is this girl a celebrity’ and it’s not like I haven’t done movies but I haven’t done a lot for my name to be popular. It’s all about my Instagram pictures, my provocative ways or my outspoken personality and not because of my movies. Some people will think is because of ‘Heels and Sneakers’ but I have been shooting before ‘Heels and Sneakers’. So not because of the movies that I’m known for Efia Odo but I’m known because of social media”.
She indicated that although she is an actress, she is not known for movies because producers have refused to call her for roles.
“It’s not my fault that I’m not referred to as a known actress because they aren’t calling me, they aren’t giving me jobs. Kofi Asamoah said the reason why he always casts the known faces in his movies is because they are good to him, they respect his works and will not waste his time to go and call the up and coming actors since they are disrespectful but I can’t speak for them because I’m not like that but he (Kofi Asamoah) doesn’t know that.”
