Lilwin brings some humour to Asantehemaa’s funeral with his ‘special’ apparel

Hundreds have thronged the Manhyia Palace to mourn with the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II the final funeral rites of the late Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem.

Among them is Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin who is showing that he can be humourous even in mourning.

Being a subject of the Asante Kingdom and a popular one for that matter, his presence at the funeral could have been expected.

But what was definitely not expected was the apparel he chose for the occasion.

The actor who doubles as musician preferred to wear a smock embossed with talismanic objects including a calabash with some powder spread on his face like traditional priests.

At a first glance, you will likely mistake him for a very powerful ‘juju’ man but laugh if you realise who he is.

Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa the 16th Asantehemaa passed away last year aged 109. Her burial ceremony which was well attended by dignitaries from around the world.

She was the biological mother of Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.
