Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, has bemoaned the high level of corruption in Ghana football.
The former Sports Minister who led Ghana to her first World Cup in 2006, believes that corruption is the main reason behind the poor state of the local league.
Speaking at the launch of anti-corruption and transparency week on Monday, the honourable minister said, “Corruption in football got so deep after 2010 in this country and Ghanaians are no more interested in the Local league;are there any politicians there?”
“The league becomes important when people see fairness. You destroy the league when people know that football matches have been fixed”.
