On account of his birthday being today, Stephan Appiah, a former Black Stars team captain, has wished him a happy birthday and said he hopes the former Chelsea player get’s all his heart’s desires.
At the time of his transfer to Chelsea Football Club in 2005, Michael Essien was the most expensive signing of all time with Chelsea paying 24,4 million Pounds for the midfielder.
This surpassed a transfer fee of 24 million Pounds paid for Ivorian striker, Didier Drogba, paid the season before. Unlike Michael, Stephan Appiah has transitioned from playing professional football to participating in football management. He is currently senior national teams Technical Director.
