Michael Okyere Baafi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi is pleading with the general public to erase the notion that the Ghana Free Zones Authority is a corrupt institution.
He said is very disheartening to hear people calling the Authority corrupt when they have little or no idea about what goes on in there.
Mr. Okyere Baafi who expressed readiness to clear the notion in an exclusive interview with Kasapa Fm’s Leticia Ohene-Asiedu on Business Digest said “the Ghana Free Zones Authority is a body that encourages export and also helps the government generate a lot of foreign exchange. So the perception that the Free Zones is a corrupt institution does not have a place in the things we do because we have a very strict compliance regime. We tell companies to do the right thing and should they flout the laws of the Authority, they will be sanctioned”.
Mr. Baafi who was full of praise for the NPP government said the government is making plans to make the Ghana Free Zones Authority one of the best in Africa.
