All fetish priests were demanded to perform the ancient days of priesthood
About 1,500 fetish priests and their followers have converged at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Friday, December 1, 2017 to kick-start the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who died a year ago.
Otumfuo Sumankwahene, Barfuo Asabre Kugyawoasu II, revealed that the funeral is scheduled from Dec 1 to Dec 11 and told Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah, that preparations are far advanced for the week long final funeral rites.
He was quick to add that he will not hesitate to drive out any fake or quark fetish priest from the display ground at the opening ceremony if found out.
He, therefore, demanded that all the fetish priests perform the ancient days of priesthood without faking.
Otumfuo Kyeame, Barfuo Kantankrakye, also urged the public to join Manhyia and sympathise with Otumfuo, as he mourns his late mother. He said security will be tight throughout the programme to ensure safety of mourners.
He, therefore, advised sympathizers to comport themselves and abide by the directive of the security men.
