With international praise for his for his goal-scoring form, we have gone through the records to establish the EXACT statistics behind Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom.

Straightforward, he has scored 39 in 48 matches in 2017, tallying a total of 83 career goals in competitive and national team-specific friendlies.

To understand the depth of this, and if you’re a critic of Serbian football, first take notice that even if 2 goals in Serbia equate 1 goal in the major leagues of Europe, we would be talking about a striker who has scored around 20 goals in the calendar year (equated to a full season).

The 20-goals-a-season strikers are usually in the top-3%, the likes of current Harry Kane, and the old Thierry Henry. In La Liga (for Elche), Serie A (for Atalanta and Genoa), and Serie B (for Sassuolo), he averaged around 8 goals a season so at 24 years old now, he seems to be at his peak.

Now, this is the breakdown for 2017…

Latina Calcio:

It started at the erstwhile Latina. He played 1 and scored 1 (vs. Hellas Verona in January 2017).

Red Star Belgrade:

2016/17 season:

Boakye joined on loan from Latina and ended that half-season with 16 goals in 19 appearances. 12 came in 15 Serbia Super Liga matches, the other 4 came from 4 domestic Cup matches.

2017/18 season:

This season’s tally has combined with the last to put him on 36 goals in 44 matches for Red Star Belgrade. There are 24 goals in 28 league matches; actually, 12 goals in 11 league matches this particular season. There are also 8 goals in 13 Europa League matches this season, 1 in 5 in the group stage and 7 in 8 in the qualifiers.

Ghana

Boakye did score 2 (vs. Congo Brazzaville) in 3 (vs. Uganda, Egypt). By the statistics, he has 8 goals for Ghana in 15 matches, 4 of them in 10 competitive matches, and 4 in 5 friendlies.

Overall: He has Scored 39 in 48 matches in 2017. One goal for Latina Calcio, 2 goals for the Ghana national team, and the remaining 36 goals for Red Star Belgrade.

Hopefully, he gets the 40th goal next time out for Red Star.
