Members of the Parliamentary Press Corps (PPC), Tuesday, visited the residence of the late popular broadcast Journalist, Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA) to empathize with his bereaved family.
Numbering over 30, the PPC members consoled the bereaved family, especially, the wife and told her to remain steadfast in God since He is the only Supreme being who knows best for her.
The journalists were warmly welcomed by the family of the deceased.
Dressed in black and red apparel, the PPC members led by their Dean, Nana Agyeman Birikorang, told the bereaved family how they received the sudden demise of KABA with shock.
“Some of us were with the MPs at Koforidua covering the post-budget workshop when the news came to us on Saturday that our dear brother has passed on. We couldn’t believe it so I quickly tasked our Secretary, Stephen Odoi-Larbi and Ekow Annan, who works with Class FM to come to Accra and find out from the family if the news is true. We were hoping to hear something different but the news turned out to be true and very shocking“, he noted.
He told the family to always count on the corps for any support they will need from now to the final funeral rites of the deceased is brought to a close and beyond.
They also promised to grace the one week celebration of the deceased.
Ahead of the visit, executives of PPC signed the Book of Condolence opened at offices of Multimedia Company in Accra.
KABA who was host of the popular afternoon political show Eko sii sen on Asempa FM and the wife were once members of the PPC.
He died on Saturday, November 18, after a short illness.
