Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has claimed he has evidence of Ministers of the erstwhile Mahama administration having been involved in corrupt practices during their time in power.

According to the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, some of the former ministers engaged in conflict of interest in contracts signed under their watch.

“…I could even identify ministers who are still chasing for contracts they awarded themselves and they’re pursuing their contracts cheques. If you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones, because you’ll force me to come out. That’s why I said they should take a cue from Seth Terkper, he must have analysed the budget but he praised the Finance Minister.

“If you’ve been in this office, when you’ve presided here and you’ve signed contracts albeit to your own vigilante groups, you should be the last person you should be the last person to throw stones,” Hon. Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh told Ghana News Day in an interview.

Hon. Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has over the past week come under heavy flak by a section of the public especially members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) after he described his predecessor and former Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as a “disgrace” and “ignorant” on radio.

Persons including former Education Minister, Betty Mould Iddrisu and Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Special Aide to ex President John Mahama have slammed Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh for his disgraceful comments describing the attack as unfortunate.

But he insists he stands by his comments saying his description of the former Minister is apt.
