Nigerian rapper Olusegun Olowokere, born in New York, known by his stage name as Iceberg Slim, has revealed that most Ghanaian musicians are not willing to pay dick jockeys in Nigeria and they don’t also come there for music promotion but rather come there for other things that are not related to music business.

This is why most Nigerian disk jockeys find it difficult to play their music on their channel to promote Ghanaian music in Nigeria.

In an exclusive interview with www.flexgh.com, the rapper made it clear that Nigerian disk jockeys are willing to play and promote Ghanaian music in Nigeria but they are not getting easy access to their music. And so if Ghanaian musicians want their music to be played on the various radio and television stations in Nigeria, they should make available their songs to the right people. He stressed that those who have their songs played are those who have made their works available to the disk jockeys.

Iceberg slim started writing his own music years ago he went to High School. He started as a poet, and served as an outlet but then transformed into rap/hip-pop. He got influenced by artistes like Jay z, Drag-On, DMX and Eminem who helped him in sharpening style in music.

With his passion for music, the rapper decided to leave John Jay College of Criminal Justice exactly two years to complete and then found himself at Institute of Audio Research (IARC) to pursue a career as an audio engineer and producer. And that obviously, has helped his music and hopes to do more especially for his fans out there.

Iceberg slim has a lot of songs to his credit. He has done quite a number of collaborations with people like rapper and singer JA Rule,2face Idibia, Tiwa Savage, MI, Ice Prince, Sauce Kid, Ga Grin, Banky W, Davido and Ghanaian dancehall act Shatta Wale. He is therefore looking for more opportunities to do more collaborations with some selected Ghanaian musicians like Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.

Iceberg slim is dating Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim and are planning on marrying soon. Iceberg slim is currently in Ghana to promote his new banger ‘Oluwa’ which is an afrobeatz tune from his camp.
