Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale who is known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., said he is the only musician who is reaping the benefits from his career in Ghana and beyond.

The ‘Ayoo’ singer said his achievements are not to show off but to motivate his followers to believe in themselves that they can also achieve that same status through hard work.

According to Shatta Wale, most Ghanaian artistes held in high esteem over the years, failed to invest the little money they earned from their music business.

He added that taking cue from what most Ghanaian legends were unable to do during their active days, he has begun investing now so he can have a resounding success in his career.

According to him, he is really ‘smart’ when it comes to making money out of his music career and that people should not think that he is bragging whenever he talks about his wealth.

“Most Ghanaian artistes are faking… At times when I speak on radio that I’m really trying with my businesses, many colleague artistes get offended but we are living a life where young people are watching. We’ve gotten good artistes that we thought they made money from their music career but they weren’t making money. Recently when I told someone that I’ve acquired a house at East Legon, the person was surprised but you don’t to have to be surprise because this should have been done long time ago by known Ghanaian artistes.”

The multiple award winning artiste as a guest on ‘Aben Wo Ha’ show hosted by Gattuso, Shatta Wale believes that his colleague musicians more or less ‘fear’ Wizkid and as a matter of fact rate him high.

“People don’t have that mind to elevate themselves that is why nowadays people see Wizkid and say wow he’s a star. I don’t see Wizkid to be too much for me but Ghanaians see him like that and artistes also see him like that. I will not see Wizkid and be stunned, I rather want him to see me and be amazed because properties and investments are talking.

“Don’t be wearing fake chains and tell me you’re number one artiste in Africa because I don’t get scared with those things. That’s why when I preach about making money in the music business, I say it and say it well for people to see that this is no joke thing,” Shatta Wale said.
