Marriage is a long journey and trust me almost every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to get married be it a male or female. How we see unmarried and married people especially in this part of the world baffles my mind.
For so many years now, movie actresses and actors, musicians and some media people find it extremely difficult to tie the knot which I think is an issue of concern. We have had countless number of our stars who haven’t had it easy getting themselves hooked up and settling down though they so much adore the act.
The female stars especially find it very strenuous to choose their partners for marriage or relationship. I have really observed from afar that some really want to settle down and have a family but fear and doubt are their major concerns.
These same stars want to be celebrated any time any day but don’t want the public to know anything about their marriages. Well, they may be right since people can one way or the other give them issues especially if their marriages are out there.
There have been cases where some of our stars started a relationship but ended it after a while. What is so wrong with our celebrities getting married or starting a romantic relationship with other celebrities or non–celebrities? And what is so wrong if they don’t get married?
Unfortunately, we are wearing different lenses to assess these celebrities of ours. Our perception about them could be different and sometimes untrue if we don’t get closer to them to know their real lives.
I must say that some of these female celebrities are humble, industrious, caring, and all the qualities one yearns to see in a woman, yet we see them differently because of the positions they occupy, what they do and most importantly the roles they play in movies and other jurisdictions.
Maybe, we have to distinct their real lives from the profession they have decided to embark on. Interestingly, some non-celebrities may have developed some interest in our celebrities especially the ladies but are also afraid to approach them for some obvious reasons.
All the negative things we say about them that are not true do break them yet they do what they do to make people happy in their homes and families.
Be real to yourself as a man and answer this question. How would you feel if the lips of your fiancée are in the mouths of almost every actor? Is it funny or not funny? Well, the camera handlers will tell you it’s all camera tricks. How many people would believe that?
And to make sure their fans, lovers and critiques keep quiet about their relationships, marriages etc, they rather get themselves pregnant with known or unknown people but would make sure the man’s name isn’t out there in the public. Maybe, you will understand them better if you are out there as a public figure.
Nadia Buari, one of the fine actresses in Ghana, till now hasn’t really disclosed the father of her twins for so many reasons. Yvonne Nelson, another fine actress Ghana has ever produced, has a baby and no one knows about the father yet though she isn’t married.
I just hope this trend wouldn’t continue where our female artistes and actresses would have children without announcing their fathers not to talk of marriage. For how long is this going to continue? When are we going to see all these ladies marrying and settling down with their husbands?
How many relationships do you think have dissolved about our celebrities? Most of them end up having babies without any father. When can we erase that notion about our female celebrity and consider her as any other woman who is ready to have a family and be responsible.
How then do other people encourage their children especially their daughters to become movie stars and be seen by all on our screens if these are some of the unfortunate repercussions they will be faced with? Why can’t our celebrities marry in peace?
Names like Zynell Zuh, Nikki Samonas, Ama K. Abrebese, Yvonne Nelson, Joselyn Dumas, Nana Aba Anamoah, Yvonne Okoro, Mzbel, Martha Ankoma, Sandra Ankobiah, Deloris Frimpong Manso, Eazzy, Becca are not married yet for some reasons though some have children already. Maybe, staying away from marriage would help them focus on their career.
We are always on the alert anytime we here our celebrities are dating or are married? Why do we do that to them when we know they are just like us and are likely to goof in their quest to find ‘Mr. Right’. Let’s allow them to have their freedom so that a lot more celebrities will dare to settle down with their partners in peace.
