President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has confessed his campaign promises are ambitious and doubts he will be able to fulfil all before the end of his four-year term.

Ahead of the 2016 general election, President Akufo-Addo on the campaign trail mentioned several policies and programmes including, One District, One Factory, One Village One Dam,  Free SHS programme, Office of the Special Prosecutor which he promised he’ll roll out if elected as president.

Though he’s begun the introduction of some of these policies in his 11 months in office, President Akufo-Addo who’s speaking at the of the 2017 Blomberg Africa Business Media Innovators Summit in Accra on Monday, November 13, 2017, holds the view that he may not be able to fulfill all his promises in his first four year term.

“I have ambitious promises, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to fulfil all of them.”

The Akufo Addo administration has implemented his much touted campaign promise, the Free Senior High School programme, which begun in September.

The restoration of the nurses allowance, paperless system at the ports, the digital property address system and the One District, One Factory policy among others have all been rolled out.

However the government is yet to implement the One District, One Dam programme, the creation of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, reduction in electricity tariff, creation of five regions and other promises.
