Cape Coast Stadium The Cape Coast Stadium pitch will be ready for Ghana vs Egypt

The Cape Coast Stadium pitch will be ready and in good condition for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier between Ghana and Egypt, according to GFA Communications Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara.

The Cape Coast Stadium has been under some amount of pressure recently after the stadium played host to the WAFU Cup as well as two of the Black Princesses World Cup qualifiers and the Sanford Women’s FA Cup final.

There have been some concerns about the general readiness of the pitch for Sunday’s game, but Sannie Daara who was speaking at the Black Stars’ first training session at the stadium, is positive the grounds will be in good shape on Sunday.

“A few days ago, the grass was a little overgrown but the authorities here in Cape Coast have done a good job of putting everything in place.

“This is not the finished product yet. By Saturday, we will see a massive improvement because they will be working on it consistently,” he said.

The game on Sunday will be the first time the Black Stars will be playing at the Cape Coast Stadium since it was opened in May 2016.
