Today’s round of voting in the Ada East District Assembly in the Greater Accra Region, for the approval of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s nominee for the District Chief Executive position is likely to be marred by tension.

Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, is billed to appear before members for another round of voting today.

The nominee failed to secure the two thirds of the total votes cast during the second round of voting.

Even before she appears for the third time in a row to be cleared for her job as the DCE by assembly members, reports are rife that some members of the New Patriotic Party are threatening the members of the assembly to coerce them into accepting the President’s nominee.

The Presiding Member for the Ada East District Assembly, Sam Arthur Kobla told Accra-based Citi FM that they’ve picked information that some members of the NPP’s Viglante group-Invisible Forces are on standby to cause mayhem and disrupt the polls scheduled for today.

“Today, the intelligent information I’m picking from the grounds, from the assembly members is that they are bringing 40 macho men-Invisible Forces to come and terrorize them and to cause mayhem so that through that they can rig the elections” Kobla revealed.

Reports suggest that high profile officials of the women’s wing of the NPP have stormed Ada ahead of the polls later today.
