President Nana Akufo Addo’s nominee for the position of Ada East District Chief Executive, Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, has finally been approved by the assembly Thursday after two failed attempts.
She secured over 20 YES votes, 7 NO and 1 rejected vote out the ballots cast.
True to prediction, the election was however without tension and drama as the lights reportedly went off soon after voting ended which forced the ballot boxes to be taken out the polling centre to safety.
The Presiding Member for the Ada East District Assembly, Sam Arthur Kobla who suspects that in the process the votes had been tempered with has refused to append his signature to the results.
Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, failed to secure the two thirds of the total votes cast during the second round of voting.
Reports say, there was heavy security with over 50 heavily armed police presence and scores of heavily built men believed to be members of the pro ruling party vigilante group, Invisible Forces making their presence felt at the venue.
