Netherlands awards budding young entrepreneurs in new business challenge

Netherlands embassy revealed plans by the Dutch government to invest in Ghana’s entrepreneurial sector as part of efforts to help fight the menace of unemployment.

This was made known at the 2017 edition of the Dutch Business Challenge which saw tens of young Ghanaian entrepreneurs awarded for their feat in the various fields of entrepreneurship. 

The 2017 edition of the Dutch Business Challenge saw young and promising entrepreneurs awarded for their various business plans. Acting Dutch Ambassador to Ghana, revealed that her outfit will be prioritizing entrepreneurship in Ghana. 

Acting Dutch Ambassador, Caecilia Wijgers, in an interview with Joy Business said, “We are interested in ensuring that entrepreneurship in Ghana is very much improved. We are not just here to assist government but also to engage in business.”

The Programs Director of the Ministry of Business Development and the Chief Director of the ministry of Trade and Industry, Kojo Frimpong and Baeka Dawarnoba respectively who both encouraged the students in making the most of the experience and exposure NBC has given them in helping move Ghana’s development agenda forward.

The winning team, Cargill Tean 2 spoke to JoyBusiness on the practical ways by which they intend venturing the Ghanaian market as they revealed their resolve to make a positive impact in the Ghanaian economy.

The Dutch Business Challenge is part of plans by the Netherlands Embassy to equip young graduates with the needed entrepreneurial skills so as to compete with in the Ghanaian market.
