Sensational Gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong has said songs which are suitable for dancing are unable to stand the test of time.
He said songs done by contemporary artistes fade so easily as compared to music by veteran artistes whose songs keep refreshing in memories of music lovers when it is played.
Speaking with host of Kasapa Entertainment, Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa 102.5Fm, the legendary artiste bemoaned how present-day artistes hurriedly compose songs specifically to facilitate dancing instead of how their music can make an impact on the generations yet to come.
“Music these days is done in haste by contemporary artistes. There are good musicians but most of them have songs which are of no good quality and can’t last. I sometimes ask myself that how many times do we dance with music… either you sit and listen to songs, sleep and listen to songs or when travelling, so the dancing is limited. Any music which is danceable doesn’t last… it fades so easily,” Yaw Sarpong said on Kasapa Fm.
Talking about his style of music, Yaw Sarpong noted how other artistes have complained about his songs saying they are difficult to learn.
“Many musicians I had wanted to feature on my album have complained about how difficult my songs are.”
Yaw Sarpong has 25 music albums and over 100 songs to his name and is keen on continuing his mission to restoring joy with his songs of faith and exhorting Christians to live righteously for God. His passion to see through his God given mission has inspired the writing of his latest album, “AwuradeKasa”.
Yaw plans to tour the length and breadth of Ghana as part of a project to connect with his many fans and followers in a quest to bring the message of the cross to the world.
