Newly appointed head coach of Ghana’s Black Princesses Yusif Basigi says his first objective will be to qualify the team to next year’s world cup in France.
The experienced Basigi was recently re-assigned to coach Ghana’s female U-20 team after spending five years at the helm of affairs of the senior team the Black Queens.
During his spell with the Queens he managed to lead them to their first gold medal at the 2016 All African Games in Brazaville and later to a bronze medal at the Women’s Afcon in the same year.
“The first objective will be to qualify to the World Cup.
“Until we get to that level we don’t want to think beyond.
“When we make the World Cup then we can turn our attention to that”,he told Citi Sports.
Ghana’s first assignment will come against Algeria in a match to be played away from home on September 15 before returning home for the return leg on September 29.
