Ghana and Sporting Kansas attacking midfielder Latif Blessing earned high praise from his team mate Benny Feilhaber after his early second half goal helped his side beat off Chicago Fire in a 3-2 thriller.

Blessing’s third goal in fourteen appearances for Sporting Kansas also propelled them back to the summit of the Western Conference and extended their unbeaten run at home to twenty games.

Feilhaber, a member of the 2010 United States team beaten by Ghana at the World Cup in South Africa appeared pleased with what Blessing has brought on board since his inclusion.

“That goal, I don’t know if it looked easy or not for you guys but that’s a difficult skill to just be able to deftly touch it like that and keep it away from the goalie and put it inside the post.”

“I think the things that he’s doing for us just brings an added factor, a different approach when he gets the ball than a lot of the other guys. He’s kind of an x-factor for us, that’s important for us going forward so it’s great to see him getting goals, having fun, doing his crazy dances at the end of the game.” he told reporters.

Sporting Kansas is Blessing’s first team outside the shores of Ghana following his stellar season for Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals where he was awarded league MVP.
