Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, will today, Monday 31 July 2017 present the mid-year Budget Review and Economic Planning statement to Parliament.
This is in fulfilment of the constitution which requires the Minister to give an account of the performance of the economy before the commencement of the second half of the year.
This is the first time the Akufo-Addo-led government will be presenting its mid-year budget.
It is not clear if the government will ask for additional budgetary allocation or not.
Some of the key areas that Mr Ofori-Atta is expected to touch on is revenue shortfalls, government debt levels, loans as well as progress with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
