Medeama SC spokesperson, Patrick Akoto, has disclosed the motive behind a recent attack directed at him by a section of Kotoko fans.
The Sports journalist was assaulted by some fans of Kotoko before their League game at the Babayara Sports Stadium last Sunday.
Akoto, who is also a football pundit, was admonished by fans of the Porcupine Warriors for his “constant criticism” on the team.
The pressman was also accused by the fans of being the brain behind a similar ordeal they suffered at the hands of the Tarkwa-based club during their first round of the League where the latter won by two goals to one.
“Yes it is true I was attacked, initially I didn’t know the reason why they attacked me,” he told Ghanasportsonline.com.
“They said I have been criticizing the team and that I asked our supporters to attack their team when they came to Tarkwa, something which is not true, but we reported the issue to the police. They physically assaulted me.”
The former Choice FM journalist has been on the media landscape for more than a decade.
