Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has expressed his disappoint at his side’s loss to Mexico by a goal to nil in an international friendly in Houston, USA.
The El Tri of Mexico faced a torrid time in the opening minutes, as the Black Stars successfully pulled their passing strings together with perfection.
The South Americans shot themselves into the lead in the 32nd minute through a controversial penalty awarded in their favor.
Frank Acheampong had a one-on-one chance but the midfielder failed to capitalize on the opportunity, as his left-foot shot went over the post.
“Sometimes if it is not your day, it’s not your day,” Appiah said.
“Considering the way we played, we could have scored at least three or four goals. But unfortunately our finishing was poor,” he added.
The four-time African champions will face USA on July 1, 2017.
