Nana Saasi Ayeboafo II, the new Mampongten chief

Nana Saasi Ayeboafo II, the newly enstooled chief of   Mamponteng in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region, has vowed to work assiduously to reduce poverty and hardship in his area.

He observed that the ‘one district, one factory’ policy of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, if properly implemented, would lead to massive reduction of poverty and economic hardship in the country.

In this regard, the traditional leader has pledged to back the president’s policies and other programmes which could lessen the burden of the masses.

Nana Ayeboafo, who recently pledged allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace, disclosed this when he was introduced to his people at Mamponteng

The new traditional leader, who is an accomplished businessman, stated that President Akufo-Addo has good intentions to develop the country but his dream would be a mirage if the people don’t support him.

Nana Ayeboafo stated that his primary motive of ascending the Mamponteng stool, which had been vacant for 14 years, is to play leading role that would ensure that my people are gainfully employed and are happy.”

He therefore lauded President Akufo-Addo for coming up with the ‘one district, one factory’ programme, stressing that the policy has the potential of reducing the high unemployment.

Nana Ayeboafo charged other traditional leaders and Ghanaians in general to actively support government’s policies and programmes to address challenges in the country once-and-for-all.

He mentioned that Mamponteng needs good roads, potable drinking water, education and health, appealing to government to come to their aid.

Nana Ayeboafo stated that he would emulate the shining example of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu by promoting education in his community.
