Thousands of pages of documents and exhibits have been sent by Fifa to justice authorities in Switzerland and the United States after the completion of a 22-month investigation into football’s governing body.

The findings will be kept secret due to ongoing investigations by the Swiss attorney general and US department of justice into corruption allegations involving Fifa officials.

The internal investigation was launched in June 2015 after seven officials were arrested in a raid on the Baur au Lac hotel in Zurich which precipitated the downfall of Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini among other leading figures in football.
