ONGA Longest Feast Table will soon break into the Guinness Book of Records.

ONGA, a seasoning powder and tablets brand, popular in Africa, will organize the event that will see the breaking of this record on Saturday, March 25 at the Independence Square in Accra.

Promasidor Ghana Ltd., manufacturers of Onga, are confident the move will not only put Ghana on the world map but also increase the goodwill for the product.

The event is also to celebrate the company’s 10 years of providing quality and tasty meals in homes.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the ‘Onga Longest Feast Table‘ logo, Brand Manager, Emeline Tagoe disclosed that aside breaking the world record, the event will give back to society, as hundreds of children from selected orphanages in Ghana will be fed and given freebies.

She noted that over 3000 Ghanaians are expected to join the Onga winning table as organisers will also showcase the rich Ghanaian food culture to the outside world through the exhibition of staple food from the 10 regions of Ghana spiced with Onga seasoning.

The Onga brand was launched in Ghana in the year 2004 with an introduction of five (5) distinct powdered flavours namely Onga Stew, Onga Shrimp, Onga Chicken, Onga Classic and Onga 3-mix.

In 2011, Onga again introduced a new product, the Onga Tablet that revolutionised the culinary space. The brand has also rolled out countless Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities as a way of reassuring the Ghanaian communities of its commitment to support development.

The longest table measures 1,508 m (4.947 ft 5.96 in) and was achieved by Afia International company (Saudi Arabia), at Ramadanna Keda 2 Festival, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 5 July 2015.
