• Hong Kong: Hmmm! Cheaters, beware! Here, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. The husband’s lover may be killed in any manner desired.
• Utah (USA): Adultery, oral and an*l s*x, self service are considered sodomy and can lead to imprisonment.
• California (USA): Adultery is punishable by a $1,000 fine and/or one year in prison.
• Arkansas (USA): Adultery is punishable with between $20 to $100 fine.
• Ancient Greek: In ancient Greece, men’s punishment for adultery was having their pubic hair removed, and a large radish shoved up their rectum.
• Italy: The vow of a Roman vestal virgin lasted 30 years. If she engaged in s*x before then, she was punished by being buried alive.
• Michigan (USA): Single guys and gals caught in the act of s*x can be fined as much as $5,000, and they could be sentenced to as many as five years in prison.
• Texas (USA): Single adults apprehended while having s*x are charged with a misdemeanour and given a $500 fine.
• South Carolina (USA): Those who “lewdly and lasciviously associate, bed, and cohabit together, in a public or non-public place” are subject to a $500 fine and as much as a six-month prison term.
• Rhode Island (USA): Unmarried people are prohibited from partaking of bedroom activities under any circumstances. However, if caught, the lovers are both fined $10.
• Bolivia: It is illegal for a man to have s*x with a mother and her daughter at the same time.
• Colombia: It’s “an excusable act of passion” for a man to murder his wayward wife when he finds the woman in bed with her lover. If the husband “personally witnesses the corrupt s*xual activity,” he’s allowed to shoot his unfaithful spouse. Such adultery-related homicides aren’t even prosecuted.
• Israel: The ancient Israelite punishment for adultery was stoning.
