AshGold Head Coach, Bashir Hayford is set to hand in his resignation letter to the management of the club by the close of the week, following his side’s defeat to Bechem United on Sunday.

Bechem United inflicted one of the most humiliating defeats in the history of the Miners, beating them 4-2 at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.

The Obuasi-based club have had a bizarre start to the season, amassing just four points from a possible eighteen, having conceded nine goals in their last two games.

AshGold is now lying 14th on the league table after six weeks of league action.

Bashir Hayford, who signed a contract extension in 2015 to remain at the club until 2018, is set to call it quit as Head Coach of the club according to reports gathered by sportscrusader.com.

According to close sources, the under-fire coach, who is still responding to treatment for his ill health, wants to step down and concentrate on recuperating as he is having a hard time doing both.
