Vodafone Foundation Urges Ghanaians To Call Healthline 255 For Information On Ebola And Cholera

Telecommunication service provider, Vodafone Ghana, through its Foundation has called on Ghanaians to call its HealthLine 255, a medical call centre, for information on Cholera and the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), which has claimed the lives of over 900 people in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The medical call centre, which is run by doctors and nurses, is powered by the world’s best triage system, which guarantees accurate medical advice.

“Since timely access to information is key to a quality and responsive healthcare system, we want to empower people with accurate information on Cholera and Ebola,” said the Head of External Affairs at Vodafone Ghana, Gayheart Mensah.

“We have health professionals at the medical call centre to answer questions on these diseases. Expert medical advice is just a phone call away and we encourage everyone to take advantage,” he added.

He explained that the Healthline 255 operates daily from 4pm to 10pm including Sundays, and the company is anticipating anywhere between 500 calls daily. Vodafone subscribers should dial 255 to access health information.

Since its inception by the Vodafone Ghana Foundation, Healthline 255 has provided credible factual information and medical support to thousands of Ghanaians on a number of health issues.
