Andre Ayew will join Ghana’s pre-AFCON camp in Spain late after insisting he would play for Marseille on Sunday in their Coupe de France round 32 tie against Grenoble on Sunday.

The winger surprisingly left Ghana a couple of days ago to rejoin his Ligue 1 side for training.

Ayew was last seen in Ghana during a boxing event organized by Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan on Boxing Day.

His return to Marseille has raised eyebrows in the Ghanaian media with the Black Stars set to commence training in Seville.

The 25-year-old had announced in mid-December that he was going to play in the Cup match.

“We will have to do with Marcelo (Bielsa). What is certain is that I should be there for the game against Grenoble,” Ayew said.

Ayew will be making his fourth Nations Cup appearance and expected to play a key role in the Ghana’s title challenge in Equatorial Guinea.
