Cashier shot at Mumprusi Community Bank laid to rest


A cashier who was  one of the four victims shot and killed by armed robbers at Gbentri near Gambaga in the Northern Region has been buried.

‘We just went and buried him, you know here there is no morgue here,the family said we should bring the corpse home, “the Managing Director of the Mamprusi Community Bank, Jerry Akwei revealed to Joy News.

During the early hours of Friday, the assailants shot and killed four men – two policemen and two staff of the community bank.

They had gone to collect the daily contribution of the market women.

The incident happened within the East Mamprusi District within the Northern Region.

The Managing Director described the deceased as gentleman with a high sense of humour.

Meanwhile, Speaking to Joy  News, Northern Regional Public Relations Officer,ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said the police, are investigating the incident.

‘As we speak now, we are picking some leads, so we are getting closer and we hope that  these bits of information will assist us to one or two of them”, said.

He also he acknowledged the presence of the Regional Director of Police, who was in the district to offer moral support to the policemen at post.
