Making a mark: Klose sets record in Germany riot against Armenia


Germany forward Miroslav Klose became the country’s all-time top scorer as his side won comfortably in their FIFA World Cup warm up game against Armenia on Friday night.

Germany struggled in the first half to break the opposition defence but were ruthless winners in the second half after both sides had gone into the first half interval goalless.

Andre Schurrle opened the scoring seven minutes after the break only for Armenia to equalize from the penalty spot in the 70 minute through Henrik Mkhitaryan.

Lukas Podolski and Benedikt Hoewedes scored two goals in a minute to give Germany a 3-1 lead. Miroslav Klose scored the all-time Germany record goals with his header in the 76 minute before Mario Goetze grabbed a brace in the final eight minutes of regular time.
