Heart of Lions kept snapping at the heels of leaders Asante Kotoko with a 1-0 win over Medeama to cut down the point difference to seven in second place.
A stoppage time winner by Prince Acquah separated the two sides as Lions are now in contention to win this season’s First Capital Plus Premier League.
Medeama were close to earning a point but were undone by Acquah’s 89th minute winner as the Tarkwa-based side picked up three points from four outstanding matches.
Lions are now three points better than third-place Hearts of Oak.
The league resumes on Wednesday and Lions face a difficult trip to relegation-threatened Amidaus Professionals.
Leaders Kotoko also travel to New Edubiase.
