Tech Company WebOne Studios reveals SMEs have low online presence


An Accra based technology company Webone studios has disclosed that after careful survey and research they have concluded that small medium enterprise (SMEs) have low online presence in the country.

The research led by the creative head and CEO of the company Mr. Herbert Yaw Odoom mentioned that, every quarter his company conducts a survey of how businesses especially SMEs are faring online with specific focus on their presence and activeness.

“In the first quarter of the year 2014, we realized that many SMEs have low patronage and presence online and these are due to few factors e we have identified”, He noted.

He explained that his company does this survey in order to find solutions to how they can help SMEs improve their productivity and market value in this internet focused world.

Mr. Herbert said: ‘SMEs have low online presence due to lack of understanding of the internet’. He also added that SME owners do not understand the essence of owning either a website or social media campaign page for products.

‘If SMEs are given proper training, teaching, and are made to understand the internet and how it works their presence will boost drastically”.

In ending he explained the meaning of a website as an electronic brochure and manual of a company that is used to do the entire announcement with regards to products and services of the companies.
