The Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) is organizing a one-day Seminar at the Alisa Hotel on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, themed: ‘CHALLENGES OF THE INTERNET REVOLUTION IN GHANA: DEVELOPING NEW BUSINESS MODULES FOR GHANA’S PRIVATE NEWSPAPERS IN THE DIGITAL AGE.’
Sponsored by the Public Affairs Section of the Embassy of the United States of America, Accra, the programme will feature Mrs. Jeanne L. Clarke as the Guest Speaker, with the Minister of Information and Media Relations, Hon. Mahama Ayariga delivering the Keynote Address.
The programme will be chaired by Mrs. Gina Ama Blay, the President of PRINPAG and Chief Executive Officer of Western Publications Ltd, publishers of Daily Guide and other allied newspaper.
The principal speakers are Mrs. Edith Dankwa, the Chief Executive of Business and Financial Times, who will speak on the topic: ‘WRITING PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS PLAN-A GUIDE TO PRIVATE NEWSPAPER PUBLISHERS IN GHANA’. S
She will be supported by Mr. Vita Sung-Park, a Fulbright Scholar from the United States of America currently on attachment at the University of Ghana, Legon who will do justice to the topic: ‘INNOVATION IN NEWSPAPER CONTENTS & LAYOUT: REPACKING & REBRANDING OF PRIVATE NEWSPAPERS TO FACE CHALLENGES OF THE DIGITAL AGE’
Participants and other invited guests include Publishers and Owners of the Private Press (PRINPAG Members); Owners of radio and television stations in Ghana (GIBA Members). The rest are officials from the National Media Commission, the Information Service Department and Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Communications and dignitaries from the Embassy of the United States of America, Accra.
